Hi guys i am swapping out my 2006 steering column with no tilt or cruise for a column with tilt and cruise but not using the cruise I dont have the engine stuff. now my question is I took off the wheel off the old one air bag gone already and the guy said watch you don't break the clock spring well i don't know what the spring looks like and i don't think i broke it .Now I want to put my wheel and air bag on this column so is it just straight bolt the wheel back on after I take the bag off and then reattach after wheel is on and then plug it in ????

The "clockspring" is actually a plastic ribbon that is coiled like a clockspring inside the case shown above. The ribbon has several flexible conductors on it for the airbag, horn and speed control. It winds and unwinds as the steering wheel is turned.
If you swapped out the column, then you also swapped the clockspring.
The clockspring assembly MUST be correctly timed to the steering position of the front wheels. If it is not, the ribbon can break or chafe inside the housing when the steering is turned full right or full left. Some clockspring cassettes have the timing instructions printed right on the case, some don't.
