Code P0720 need help

Today the OD on/off light started flashing and the speedometer quit working and the engine light came on while I was driving. The automatic tranny doesn't want to shift out of first and second. A mechanic I am friends with said it may be the speed sensor in the rear end so I replaced that. It still does the same thing.

I have a Scan Gauge and it shows code P0720 three times and no other codes.

My Ranger is a 2003 Edge 3L engine type V 2 whl drive with 4:11 anti slip.

What is wrong?

EDIT: I just found what is wrong. I crawled under and gave it an eyeballing and saw that the wires on the OSS sensor were bare and frayed. If they shorted out I hope it didn't damage anything and what is the resistance of the sensor supposed to be. My Ford shop manual don't give the resistance.

Soldered the wires together and put shrink tube on them and taped them and everything worked.
