Dash illumination lights?
All of my dash lights(except high beam indicator) went out the other day and the fuse is good. Haven't taken the time to get a meter or test light to see if the fuse is getting power. was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this issue and there might be a smoking gun that i could look for....Also, the interior dome light stays on all the time and im thinking that may be a door ajar sensor? Maybe? The Cargo lamp comes on when i roll the dimmer to the "on" position.
1996 will use a Dimming Module for the dash lights, power comes from the Parking Light Relay, I assume Parking Lights work, check Fuse #7, 7.5amp, in cab fuse panel, that passes parking light power to dimming module
If fuse #7 has 12v with parking lights on but no dash lights then dimming module is most likely bad, dash lights include ashtray light and climate control lights, they are all on dimmer
There is a separate fuse for the interior lights, like dome light, which also runs to dimming module but its only for its internal switch for the dome light
Does the dome light switch works, i.e. turning dimmer all the way "up"?

Check Fuse #3, 15amp in cab fuse box
There is a Parking light Relay in Relay Box #1, this box is under the dash just to the right of the steering column, it has several relays inside
Turn on Parking lights and listen for this Relay to "click" closed
The head light switch activates this relay, so it could be the problem
This relay sends power to the dimming module for the dash lights, so it must close to get dash lights
Do you have factory keyless entry?
If so does it work?
The keyless entry Grounds this relay to flash the parking lights

SOLVED!!!! Thanks to RonD! It was the #3 fuse. Now to figure out why it blew....I have a sneaky suspicion it may be in the wad of trailer light wires hanging down from the rear bumper!!! Thanks for the help RonD!
