dash red brake light

dash red brake light

when im driving any condition the red brake light warning light comes on and stays on. if its off and i get on her hard it comes on and stays on, if i jump on the brake it shuts off then comes back on? its been doing it all week. any ideas

ur ebrake pedal is loose and making it do that. mine did that for a while but i sprayed it with wd40 and it went away

Mine did this and it was b/c my brake fluid was low b/c it was time for me to replace my brakes...

my cable is wicked loose and hangn
sounds kinda wrong

mby thats it im so lazy in the winter to check them, i hear the wear indicators here and there.

There's only a few things that can cause the red brake light to come on.

The fluid sensor in the master cylinder (low brake fluid, check for leaks or worn out brake pads)
The proportioning valve checkvalve is stuck (not common at all)
The parking brake switch is faulty, or some mechanical parking brake pedal assembly issue.

Chk the P-Brake, oil it up because it may just be sticking as 99offroadrngr stated.
Do the easy stuff first.

rear wheel cyl is gushing. just got the whole deal in parts for the rear along with new drums. pads and rotors up front.
