Try spraying the latches with wd-40, works sometimes.

something that we found that fixes this at the shop i work at is spraying out the latch with brake clean, blow the latch out with shop air, work the door a few times, then spray some silicone lube in the latch and work the door some more.

works every time for us

I had the light and the dinger going all the time, sometimes if I slammed the door they would shut off.
Finally P.C. suggested the WD-40 trick on the latch and wham-bam it fixed it.
Nice !

The WD40-fix worked instantly on my 2002 XLT Ext. Cab. No more "door ajar" light on; no more dome light problems; no more double-chirps when locking the truck.

If you've got rear suicide doors, don't forget those latches, top AND bottom. (The one frozen up on mine was last one I sprayed: rear driver's side, bottom latch.)
