door locks dont work only when they want to

i have had this problem since 05 when i got the truck lol and my last ranger had the problem to so i got use to it but now its bugging me

the door locks do not work with the buttons only somemtimes but they do like flinch when i hit the button. and sometimes it will lock but not unlock.

the same goes with the keypad the exacet same thing.

is it the door lock buttons getting old and loosing contact? or is it something else?

thanks
