Non-Ford Help!

Hate asking a non-ford question, but buddy is stuck.

-Engine light came on after he had it detailed (engine bay detailed), we hooked up scanner, spit code PO420. You can hear it idling bad (up and down up and down) pull wire outta IAC and sorta goes to normal. Tried to restart few minutes later and wouldnt.
Eventually does, but stalls twice on his way home. Both times when coming to a stop (rpms dropping at stop my guess)

-it's a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7L......thanx all!
