Ebay speed chips?

I have always seen these .99 cent mods on ebay that "instantly give 20+ horsepower". I am highly suspicious that .99 cents will give you 20 extra horsepower or do they really work?

Mine are only 1/2 inch diameter..

Your's were probally 1 1/2 inch diameter..

an electircian at work told me they are just resistors that will most likely F-UP the computer not long after install-not worth it to even try it
