I looked at a 2008 today with the 3.0L engine. Each time I turned the ignition on, I heard a sound coming from the under hood area that sounded like and electric motor ramping up and after 4-5 seconds it stopped. I don;t have that in my 2004 model. Any idea what it is?

 

After further reading, I believe that to be the fuel pump.
