Emergency brake light coming on

As of this morning my emergency brake light started coming on when I come to a quick stop.

Seems to be from the truck dipping down when I stop. Light goes out when I accelerate and if I slowly stop no light.

The e-brake doesn't really work either but when I take it off I have to push the pedal up to get the light to go out.

I figure it is a bad switch or something like that. Easy fix?

That light is also for low fluid level in the master cylinder. Whats happening is when you stop, the fluid sloshing is triggering the low fluid warning. You need to add some brake juice because it will only do that if its low.

Thanks guys. I'll take care of that at lunch. I kind of thought that was the problem. My first Ranger (91) did the same thing but it just came on and stayed on until the leak was fixed.

low fluid could either be a leak or an indicator that your brakes need replacing soon.
