Engine swap and gasket replacemnet

hello I am new here but I have a 89 ranger 4x4 with the 2.9L v6. E.F.I.
I just set the lower intake manifold on the gasket and heads and tightened down the bolts in sequence. I noticed that there is a small gap at the front and rear of the intake from the block to the intake. is this normal?

Gap is there but should be sealed with a bead of silicone or similar sealant when installing the lower intake, should have been a small tube of sealant included with the intake gasket set.

Some had rubber gasket at each end between the heads.

There is no "pressure" under the intake, but oil vapor can exit out the gaps, and it will effect PCV valve function with added air source at lower RPMs.
