brake line help

So the steel line feeding the flex line feeding the junction block that sits on the rear axle gave out. just like I have read happens to a lot of people. I have been trying to get it fixed, but I am having issues. I just want to replace the line from the fitting that sits under the fuel filter to the hose that is on that bracket. But I cannot seem to find a 72" line that has a bubble fitting on one end and an inverted flare on the other. The Flare kit I have is absolute garbage for making the proper end on 3/16" pvf line I bought. I am running around on my vacation trying to get this thing fixed and spending money and getting nowhere! Can someone please tell me how they fixed this on their Ranger? A part number? Lots of people seem to always just say oh yea just get a hose and bingo blango ur done. But it is never that simple. First I need the hose.

I went to Advanced and they were not much help. No lines with bubble fittings. But they did have metric bubbles.

Any parts store should have adapter fittings... you can get one that has a female inverted flare on one site and a male bubble flare fitting on the other.

Yea :) I will try the nearest Autozone then instead of Advanced. This is driving me nuts I just want to get rid of the damn thing and it is going to charity for a tax writeoff unless someone here wants a project truck for $600 :) And can grab it soon.

I cut the brake line flush with the existing fitting then drilled it out with a 3/16 drill. I was then able to reuse the old fitting but I just realized that doesn't help you and this is an old post. my bad

it's not that old lol. Anyways I ended up selling the truck but the guy is picking it up in two days. I want to cap the output of the ABS sensor unit so he will be safe. Does anyone know what size plug I need for that? I don't want to do the whole bent tubing jerry-rigging trick. The auto parts guys were no help unfortunately. I tried a 3/16 ntp cap on the brake line by the fuel filter, but it was not deep enough to actually seat against the bubble fitting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many areas , I know NY is one, auto parts stores are no longer allowed to sell threaded plugs that will fit brake line fittings. Brake fittings are straight thread where NPT is tapered , so they won't fit.
When I need to plug a line as a temp. fix , I cut the line flush with the fitting and use my wire feed welder to plug the hole. Then reinstall the fitting.
Not a good idea but it lets me get to the parts store and back so I can fix it the right way.
