Icon5 Vacuum lines dangling and hanging idle.

Hey all,

I’ve read and used this forum a lot but never really had the need to post anything until now, seems as though I can’t find a solution.

My rangers specs: 1999 Ranger XLT 3.0l v6, manual

To the confusion! My danger ranger has been hanging around at 1500rpms for 10 or so seconds after revving it or put in neutral, the A/C has been stuck on defrost position, and it won’t shift into 4x4.

With all that out of the way I started by
trouble shooting the IAC valve for the hanging rpm problem. I unplugging the IAC connecter and waited for something to happen, but she ran good which made me realize there’s a vacuum leak. Also the IAC valve was replaced and is a motorcaft part.

So after some weird angles on my neck under the truck I found an issue where a vacuum line was dangling and disconnected.

The end which was traced back to a PVH solenoid. Which i’ve just discovered was on the truck. Seems as though the owner before me changed out the hubs for a manual type locking system with mile marker hubs (don’t blame em after reading about the automatics). But the lines for the automatic hubs are just dangling and still connected to the PVH.

When starting up the truck I confirmed vacuum by holding my finger on the dangling lines and feeling if it sucked.

Unsure what to do to fix any of these issues, but I’m going to try and plug it and see if anything changes.

Thanks, wyattes

Update:

Tried plugging them with screws but to no prevail. The RPMS still hang at 1500, seems as though it’s idling more rough than usual now, and A/C stays on defrost as well as 4x4 high and low now blinking at me.
