Fusible Link-1998 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6
Welcome to the forum
No fusible links, ever, between alternator and starter
1998 Ranger used a Mega Fuse on the outside of engine bay fuse box for alternator's B+ wire(wire from the back of the alternator)
Older Rangers did use fusible links on alternator wires, but 1998 -2000 didn't then in 2001 and up Ford went back to fusible links
But never on starter motor wires
Starter motor has larger cable from battery positive
And a smaller wire(yellow/blue) on starter motor comes from starter relay in engine fuse box, this relay is activated by Key turned to START, power to activated starter relay comes thru fuse #24 in cab fuse box, but transmission must be in Park or Neutral, if manual trans then clutch pedal must be down all the way

Thanks for your reply
the problem is I don't have any power to my alternator and I was reading in the manual that there was a fusible link between the alternator in the starter but maybe I just blew one of those fuses I accidentally shorted out the alternator wire from the battery therefore is blowing the fuse or popping the link
