I have a 94 2.3 ford ranger and it wreaks of gas like its smellng like it's running lean no check engine lights but it smells like when ur driving behind a shitty vehicle where should I start

 

I would check the vacuum hose on the FPR(fuel pressure regulator), if FPR leaks fuel is sucked into intake in the vacuum hose.

Also look at fuel injectors, there is an O-ring at each end of an injector, they do get old an crack

Turn key on and count to 3 then turn key off, this Primes fuel system for 2 seconds, each time key is off and on
Repeat this 3 or 4 times, then check engine area for fuel smell
