obviously the video i posted is an exaggerated consequence.
I wouldn't consider the front cross member an ideal pulling point. Yes, you can do it fine, and hundreds have, but why not go for the best the first time around? Do a hitch, and do it right.

i dont have any tow hooks either on my 93.. but when i had my stock rear bumper i just used the ball on the bumper and it didnt wreck anything..

but on the front when i had my valance i just took a tow strap ran it through the foglight hole and hooked it onto the foglight bracket.. worked great.. now im not sure where im gonna hook up to in the front as i dont have my valance on the truck anymore... in the rear i'll just wrap it around my big *** steel bumper for now until i get some tow hook on there...

Obviously that guy never pulled anyone out before. Still, I can't stop laughing my head off.

a front hitch does not mount at the very end of the frame rail like the front cross member. it has more "bite" on the frame. plus the cross member is not very strong to begin with. it will suffice to the normal uses that most of us use them for but doing stupid $*** like the guy in the video....? who in their right mind would think that was a smart thing to do.

he obviously has no depth perception on the repercussions of his own actions. i laugh at kids like that who think that jus because its a truck, you can do anything. they are not only a hazzard to them selves but to others around them when their feeling stupid.

FAIL!!!!
