Hardwire A GPS

Anyone know how to hardwire a gps. My wife bought me a garmin 260w for our anniversary. She is truly awesome.

On my Sirius satellite radio I just took the 12v plug apart and hooked it up to the 12v switched behind the radio. Of course I had to fuse it also....

That's a great idea. I never even thought about it.

Go to radio shack and get a cigarette lighter plug, wire it in to the cigarette lighter wires behind the radio.

I hooked mine up to the ignition wire to the radio so it turns on and off with the truck.

Oh, as for running the wire.

The black vent part up by the windshield snaps off, I ran the wire through one of the holes in it.
