hella grill install

hella grill install

before anyone says it i used the search button a lot to find this but no dice. ok with that being said i received a set of hella 500ff's for christmas and im just wondering where you guys hooked them up behind the grill i.e. top bottom all that and also how you guys wired them up and put your switches. thanks guys

there are tons of threads on this very subject, SEARCH. there are several pictures on this site, several of how mine are set up as well.

mine are mounted with brackets from the core support. i found having them hang like this makes for very easy adjustments and ease of access. couple screws to take off the grille and the lights are right there. follow the wiring diagram from hella, it is very easy, although i have found the wires on the back of the light housing need to be reversed from the drawing sometimes for them to work, other times they do not. i do not know why this is, i have wired up 7 sets now and had to do three sets this way.
i also had a 12V socket in the dash i never used so i put the switch in it

my truck is a stick so no, but on the autos there is a thread here somewhere that explains how to mount them. the trans cooler needs to be moved i believe and the horn rotated up out of the way

yeah i think i saw something where intalling them upside down works for the trans cooler

Ill take pics of mine soon, i still need to wire them up, i mounted them and then got busy. I like how that Switch is mounted in the Cig lighter.
