Hi All, Im currently fighting with my serp belt to make it stay on its pulleys and in my engine bay. Ive got a new idler pulley and a new tensioner but 1-ribs worth of belt likes to hang off of the idler pulley and this causes the belt to sometimes hang off of the AC pulley. Is it possible that I got the wrong pulley from the parts store or am I being dumb for a different reason?
Do you still have the old idler to compare to the new one? Just thinking that it may be assembled wrong like pulley or shaft not pressed in all the way.

I threw that out a while ago, when I replaced that the truck was actually owned by my neighbor. I did read in a reddit post that the bearings can sometimes be pressed in from the factory too deep, so I used a bearing tool tonight to set the bearing back about 1/16", but the belt appears to still rest in the same place.
Just realized you are talking about a 2002 with a 3.0 engine. I saw the 02 3.0 and mistook it to be a typo of the 2.3 as in the decimal point was in the wrong place! so I guess you are right mine is probably nothing like yours, good luck!
