Can any one tell me how to diconnect the Inertia Fuel Shutoof switch? I don't know where this is either.
It is a Ranger XLT 3.0 V6 4 X 4.

The IFS switch is located under the dash above the passenger footwell and can be easily identified because it has a reset button on it. The IFS is a safety device so I would only jump it temporarily for a test. If it is found to be defective, it should be replaced with a new part.

 

I'll add that I always thought that even if you jump it, it would act like it was off.
but yea, you can't miss it.

There are two wires going to the switch. Normally, when they are connected together electrically through the switch, power is allowed to go to the pump if other conditions are also met. When the switch opens as it should during a collision type impact, the fuel pump should stop.

So, to bypass it for a test, it is as simple as removing the connector from the switch and connecting the harness wires together. This could be done with an improvised jumper between the two terminals in the harness connector.
