How to hookup bigger alternator

Hi, i ordered a new alternator its for my 2008 XL 3.0Litre . 138.5MM denso hairpin style (6 phase) 290A 240+A (315A peak) power edge version (best idle)
He mentioned i will have to shim the alternator up with washers so the serpentine belt is tight but my question really is.... This alternator only has 1 electrical plug on it, the factory alternator has 2 plugs going to it. What is the small plug, and how can i run that seperatly? any input would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean?

The big Stud/Nut terminal connects to Battery Positive via a Fuse, I would use 2 larger gauge wires to 2 MEGA fuses(175amp) and then to Battery

The other connections on alternator are low amp so no new wires need to be run, you can use factory wiring
"Stator" white wire on the 3 wire plug-in on factory alternator may not be needed on the new alternator, it maybe internal

The other 2 wires are needed
Yellow wire(factory) is for monitor voltage, tells voltage regulator how many amps are needed at any given time
Light Green wire(factory) is Battery Light in dash, this is the ON/OFF switch for an alternator

New alternator should come with wiring diagram IDing which is which

Make sure that new alternator is 12volt model, they come in 24volt versions which would FRY your electronics
