I want fog lamps 2 work w/high beams

I would like for my fog lamps to work while I have my high beams on. I found a kit by Summit Racing that works for Chevy pickups to keep the low beams on while the high beams are on. I was wondering if maybe I could get that kit to work for what I want to do. Any suggestions?

dont bother with a kit. its a simple and practically free mod.
I did it less than 10 minutes. including gathering all tools, and putting them away.
hang tight ill find the how to

Pull the correct #50 relay from the underhood distribution box.
Choose the correct blade and bend it over as shown.
Reinstall.

Works on 2002~2003 Rangers with factory foglamps. 2001 is similar but the relay is #48A instead.
Does not work on 2004+ Ranger.
There is also a similar "bent-pin" procedure that works for 1999~2000.

For the record, this may be illegal in some states, especially if you also have driving lights that come on with the high beams. Many states limit you to 4 forward-facing lights.

read his sig, assuming he has the correct info he has an 06.
DO NOT do what the above poster stated. (unless of course you dont actually have an 06 lol)

for 04-06 its a little different than the relay beding trick on older trucks. heres the how to.

Ah, damn. I jumped the gun

I even saw the 04-06 How to and didn't think to check his year

Also I don't know Arkansas state law is on lights, but I would think you would be ok

i think most places its just max of 4 driving lights on at a time.
so i think youd be safe.
its a huge improvement though having them on with highs.

Very nice! I still would like to put another pair of lights on the front but I will put them on a switch and probably only use them on the dirt roads.

It should be terminal 1 (outboard tab) of the Fog Lamp Isolation Relay.

Here are a couple links that might help:

or

You could simply pull the Fog Lamp Isolation Relay and throw it in the glove box and install a jumper wire between the relays socket terminal 3 & 4.

Finished fog light mod!

Thanks again 06FordFX4 and everyone else for your advise. I got my fog light mod done over the weekend. Everything works exactlly like it's supposed to and it's a huge improvement. My next project will be to install the sunvisors, rearview mirror, and dome light that I robbed out of my wrecked '98 Mustang GT. The rearview mirror was originally from a '95 Mustang convertable, so it has maplights in the mirror.

Fog light mod (sorry not a great pic)
