Ignition switch is stuck in lock postition

I have a 1987 ford ranger xlt and the problem is that when i go to turn the key it gets stuck and wont turn on i tried jiggling the steering wheel ,pushing in the clutch and brake literally everything and the key still wont turn i can turn it backwards and the fuel pump gauge works when i do that but it still wont turn forward so that i can turn on my car if someone could respond with solutions soon that would be great

Best i can do is take pliers to it, but you'll probably end up shearing the key off in it when the beauty ring spins instead of the actual key itself...Ive had to deal with several of these, They wear out sometimes.

Your best bet is to hit the scrapyard and hope like hell you can find a column with the keys still in the ignition.

Have you taken time to disassembly the steering wheel/ column and see where the lock is.
Maybe a little lube on there would make some difference.
WD-40 on a swab if needed !
