its a simple 3 wire connection but why put that old thing in such a new truck? you could get a nice shift light at summit for 20 or a digital tach w/shift light for 50-60

If you do decide that you want to use it, you will need to find out if the tach is set up for a 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engine. Some tachs (especially older models) are factory calibrated for only one of the 3 but others have a means for the user to adjust the tach for the different cylinder counts.

You could get buy a Ranger cluster off ebay that has a tach, and sell yours and not pay hardly anything, and not have to drill holes or anything. Thats what I plan to do.
