Life span of hoses

Real basic questions here regarding my "low mileage '05".
How long do the radiator hoses last?
Do the smaller hoses last longer?

I've read the new rubber compounds last a long time but is there anyone who knows a service life expectancy?

Cheers, G&K

Depends on where you, and the vehicle, live, lol.

Hot and Drier climates can cause shorter lifespan for rubber compounds, so maybe 10-15 years for cooling system hoses

I would guess 20+ years in the northern areas

But also depends on pressure inside the system, rad cap is rated as 14psi but if its allowing 16-18psi it could shorten the life of a hose

And then there are drive cycles, each time you run the engine from cold to warm the rubber hoses expand and then shrink back when cold again, over and over and over, ect.....
