Light Alternator??

What is the little device called that allows the hazard/directional lights on your car to alternate? Like so that it allows the front lights and the side lights to alternate... I know that I am not explaining this very good but I don't know how to explain better, sorry.. lol

example:
::FRONT::SIDE::FRONT::SIDE::

basically one light to the other.

lol.. would that be some kind of flasher, or even the flasher itself? Wait, first what is the problem?

I don't know... is it the light itself or something else that sends a signal... that's my question, haha

^yeah pretty much, the flashers are like relays almost, you have the input flasher signal then you have the actual turn signals that plug into the relay

yea, its cheaper to build my own solution than to buy real warning lights for my truck... way to much money for a college student

The little green LED lights on the side of my truck turn on with the parking lights, then when I turn on that side signal light they alternate like the animated picture above. It does it on my 94' because I think my dad said they lights alternate the polarity to the signal light (positive - negative, then switch wires each flash) because the added light connects to two positive lights, the parking light and the signal positive wires and I don't know it does the switching in the light or the flasher does it automaticly?
