Mounting hi lift

I got a hi lift the other day for 40$ new, never used. (love craigslist)

So the question is how do I mount it in my bed? I want it along the inner beside. Just curious how others have done it.

If you plan on doing serious off roading I wouldnt suggest bolting it to the bedside. At the dunes Andy's (int3rc3ptor) hi-lift ripped the mounts out of the bed side.

If you do mount it to the bed side, add some reinforcement on the outside of the bed, between the two panels. A 1/8" plate approx 3 x 3 inches should add considerable support.

From my thread:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...y-hi-lift.html

Score on the $40 hi-lift. I paid $40 as well on criagslist. It even came with the big red offroad base. I got the 60" one, fits nicely in the bed.

I used the 4xrac made by hilift. You can see in the pic, it accommodates a little lock. Not super secure, but enough to make it a PITA for a passer-by to just take. I also have a soft tonneau, and over the year, year and a half I have had it, it has onlyu developed a small amount of rust.I also secured by mounts with 2" washers behind, so if they rip out of my bed, something is seriously wrong.
