cb radio mounting spot

Im looking at getting one of the cobra nightwatch cb's and im looking for a mounting point. I have a 5 speed, and alot of crap, so in between the shifter and the seat on the hump is almost out of the option. I like the idea of having it mounted between the visors. Would I just take the bracket and set it up where i want it between the visors, and drill holes and screw it in? I would like it as flush to the headliner as i could get it. Is there any box or anything i could buy that would screw into the center brace and then i could just slip the cb into there? Any Ideas?

Hey, man, seriously not being a smart-alek but this has been covered in detail and search is a good idea for stuff like this that is "common".

See this topic: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ead.php?t=2985

In it I showed the two places I've mounted mine, and others posted as well.

For all of you: it's best to do a search because it saves us having to post and repost over and over again on common subjects.

My .02 :)

I've thought about mounting a small cb in the place of my ash tray.

John, n3elz, no offense, but i have read that thread, and if you will also notice, i even posted this same question on the end of that one. the thing is, i wasnt getting any responses and i wasnt asking where i should mount it really, i was asking if there was anything out there (i.e. a stainless box or a cheap bracket) that would help the job. i saw where everyone elses was and i wanted something different. In the question i am not asking where yall have mounted it and stuff im asking if there is anything to help me mount it where i want to. thanks for the help, i enjoy people helping and replying, but i know how to search for topics. I just wanted some help on mounting. thx.

If i just mount it to the roof, with the brace that it comes with, is it sturdy enough? i have 2 10's and 2 12's and it has been a constant struggle to keep everythin from rattling. i just dont want to put this in, and the whole headliner starts rattling.

Well, the roof brace is sturdy enough for sure. I have a smaller sub, but my CB does not vibrate where it's mounted on the roof.
