would it be a good idea to remove the mud flaps on my 98? or do u think it would start to rust out my wheel wells?

why would it rust out your wheel wells? if you wanted you could rustoleum the contact points where the hanger was bolted.

i like my mudflaps and people complain to me when they see ive got them (dont know why) i see them as a courtesy to other drivers, especially since i hate having rocks thrown at me. plus, i kinda like the look of them.

on a 98 you may have a hole, my 99 had one, but i just used the plastic button that held the flap on and stuck it back in the hole.

You will have a hole, but it isn't that noticeable.

If you do a lot of driving on gravel roads, you will get more rock chips. I drive on gravel roads just about everyday, so from time to time I clean the rockers off real well and hit them with a couple coats of clear.

Even with more rock chips, you probably won't get any more rust than you would with them on. I noticed that when I took mine off, they had actually dug into the paint and there was a little bit of surface rust.

alright yall... i got them off and there are holes but there really small... but it does look a lot better. the only reason i really wanted them off was cause they were blocking all the mud from hitting my truck and it was starting to pis me off. but i might to stick the plastic plug things back in and see how it looks. thx guys.
