2006 Ranger 4.0
I will try to be brief and concise. Few weeks ago the truck would not turn over with rapidly blinking PATS indicator. Disconnected battery for 10 min and then started fine. Did okay for 2-3 starts and then did it again. This time no response to battery disconnect. PATS indicator started acting crazy. Sometimes it would blink normally in off position, go out in run but no other indicator lights come on in run. Sometimes it would blink rapidly in off and off in run. I changed the PATS receiver with no effect. I put in a new key cylinder encoded to my original keys. Still won't start but the PATS indicator pattern has stabilized and changed. Now the indicator has normal slow blink in off position. In the run position the PATS indicator dims but does not go out. Still no other indicator lights.
I do not have a computer to read error codes. Any ideas appreciated.
