No spark help.
No spark help.
I recently bought an '88 2.3 5-speed manual EFI that didn't run, supposed fueling issue.
Upon getting it home, I went to put in a battery, didn't even pay attention that both the terminals were black and put it in backwards. Big mistake on my part, had some smoke but no fire. Not sure if I messed anything major up but noticed im not getting spark. Also noticed the Power distribution box isn't anywhere to be found. (Not on either side of the engine compartment.)
Don't know if I got juked out, but I've replaced the ECM and the ICM. Still no spark, connected the plug on the line before the distributor and still no spark on the plug. Pulled a coil out of a bronco ii to test something else, no spark on it either. Very possible that coil is bad and both are?
Any ideas on what to check and how I should go about checking it, haven't dug too deep into it. Looking for ideas before I fire the parts cannon.
Thanks in advance!
