obd port flakey?

so for about a year and a half I've had my scangauge plugged into the OBD port. Recently it has started going blank, like no power from the port, or engine has been turned of, while driving. It's completely random and sporattic, it can go days without happening, or several times in a day.

If I unplug the wire from the scangauge and plug right back it, it's turns back on.

I've had the SG updated, and ran it for a month in my escape without any issues. But back in the ranger it randomly turns off.

Could there be a fuse, or loose wire somewhere? Maybe the signal it uses to stay on is not getting to the port. (I can't recall if it's rpm or something else)

Any thoughts?

Do you have something plugged into the 12v accessory port (cigarette lighter) on the right side of the bezel?

If not plug something in there and then see what you get.

The 12v accessory port uses the same fuse as the obdII.

I have a dash cam plugged into the right 12V (and it's working) and a car charger in the left, also working.
