OHC question...

i recently got a new ohc to replace mine that had broken map lights. Only thing that has changed is the ohc, none of the plug wiring is different and the temp sensor hasnt moved at all.

my question is, does the ohc have some sort of calibration required for the temperature? for some reason this ohc no matter what starts off at an extremely high temperature and will slowly drop the temp. i was thinking engine heat but as i said before the temp sensor location has not changed and my old OHC never had this problem. Even after driving for a while it still does not drop down to the accurate temp. i still have the old internals so i was thinking of swapping them out but if there is something easier to do any help would be appreciated.

well swapping it has seemed to work... must have been getting to much power to the temp read out or something

Are you looking for any particular color? I've got an extra gray one, non-sunroof version (includes the cubbyhole garage remote holder).

okay... will do that later tonight. I have to put in a couple hours doing a software upgrade/install after-hours tonight, but after that I should be able to dig out the digital camera and get something PM'd to ya... tomorrow, at the latest.

For what it's worth, it almost sounds like an electrical short on the OHC board. Low resistance = high temperature. As a component on the board heats up, it's resistance may change. That's just speculation though... I'm not that familiar with the OHC's guts.
