Parking Brake Cable Adjustment

How can I take the slack out of the parking brake cable? I had to replace the passenger side cable and now I have to much slack in the cable. The shoes are good and the brakes are properly adjusted.

My '88 has a manual adjuster on the left framer rail right below the driver seat.

Yes, the equalizer, on outside of drivers side frame rail, under drivers seat area, may have an adjuster, but later models did not

Is this for the 2002 Ranger?

And does your setup look like this: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...493e082d17.jpg

If it looks like this: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...86c5c8b984.jpg
Then the end of the one sheath has come out of the equalizer and you will need to pull it back and clamp it back on the end of the longer cable sheath

Only other option is that the single cable that runs from equalizer to parking brake pedal has stretched, you can replace the cable or use a mechanical adjuster to shorten the cable, like this one: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...371d08a89b.jpg
