Pats problem
Pats problem
have a 2003 ranger edge. Someone had tried pulling the ignition to where it doesn't start. The box on the transceiver is burnt due to my mishandling my question is do I just need the new collar and ignition? If so what exactly do I do
Welcome to the forum
Yes, you just need the new transceiver, it should have a 4 wire plug/connector in/under the steering column, its not a "matched" part, its just a powered antenna, so any Ford transceiver that fits will work, i.e. wrecking yard find
Fuse 19 in cab fuse box powers it, 25amp

Keep in mind that the connectors may differ, when the transceiver failed in my 2002, the extra 2003 transceiver I had sitting in the shop would not plug into the 2002 because the connector was different. I had to swap and re-pin the connectors but after that the 2003 transceiver worked fine.

That's just a powered antenna
It transfers the key's number to the PATS module, it doesn't "match" anything, its just an antenna, plug and play
