Ok here is the full story. Wife went out and started my tuck, it started right up, ran for 5 seconds then died. Its a 1999 Ranger 3.0L V6, flex fuel. After it died it wouldn't do anything, no click no start. Had the battery tested test came back bad. Battery was only 2yrs old but ok it could just be the battery I thought. Put in new battey and I hear the ABS Pump running. During this process I notice a wire going to the starter solenoid that appeared like it could be bad so fixed it also. Hook up everything and remove the ABS fuse in order to stop the ABS pump from running. I get in the truck and turn the key the wipers are going full speed and wont turn off, and all my guages are basically backwards and all I get is the startedr winding but not engaging. Starter is less than a year old, around nine months. Can someone point me in the right direction in order to start tracking this problem down. I have found some excellent help here before while installing the current engine thats in it now and im really hoping someone can do the same again. Thanks for all the help and expertise.
