The alarm manufacture is the place that would have that kind of info.

Welcome to the forum

+1 ^^^

There was no Factory Ford alarm system for a 2003 Ranger, Dealers sometimes added them
You need the Alarm makers wiring diagrams for 2003 Ranger installation

2003 Ranger does have a PASSIVE anti-theft system(PATS), no lights or horns, just No Start without the right key

Yes, Diodes are often required so voltage can only run One-Way thru a wire
So you may need a few depending on the system

Yeah realize they didn't come with a aftermarket alarm I am trying to install one myself and when I hooked it up when I opened the driver side door it works when I open the passenger door it doesn't work I'm trying to find out what size diode and how to hook the diode up so I can get it working right

You'd need a diode capable of both handling the amount of current it will need to carry, plus one that's rated for at least 24 peak inverse volts. As for how to hook it up, you either hook it up and it works, or hook it up, it doesn't work..... in which case you reverse it. You got a 50/50 chance if you're just guessing.

Well I finally got both doors on my 03 ranger working off of the alarm . I wound up running the door trigger wire straight to the dome light, without any diodes and so far have not had any false triggers is that ok to run straight like that or will my truck go up in flames lol
