Cruise switches were roasted ie falling apart. So I ordered some from.Amazon.They of course came with the ribbon wiring. I read that if you could unplug the broke switches, you could take the new switches (separated from new harness) and plug into existing harness. Well I never get that lucky. One came unplugged ok. The other wouldn't budge. So I removed the 2 horn contacts and proceeded to remove the old harness. Got it out and started the process of snaking the new harness into place. Put horn contacts back in. Plugged switches in and attached each switch. Plugged airbag back in and bolted it back to the steering wheel. Went for a test drive. Headlights on, they illuminate like they should. I hit the on button and then "set" and nothing. No cruise light comes on on the dash. So I know I have power due to illumination. My brake lights work. What am I missing. I couldn't find a fuse for it. Anything else I should check? I also own a 2000 Expedition. And on both vehicles when you hit the brake you can hear a relay clicking. I've never heard any other vehicle make the clicking noise. I know I'm off track. But wasn't sure if that was related.
