In what sense is bypassing your fuel pump relay smart? I can't think of any situation that you would need to do this, so i doubt one exists.

Is there a crash sensor, maybe that is what you are thinking about ?

The relay for the fuel pump is there for a reason and not to be played with.

The OP may be trying to narrow down a possible problem with the relay, such as using a jumper wire to temporarily get power to the pump to see if that's his problem.
We need a little more info.

If thats the case, switch it with a Relay that works.

Have you replaced the OEM relay ?

There are after market “Fuel Pump Relay Kits” that might do what you want but you need the relay other wise you will not be able to shut it off.

Hey vwbug2275,

What's happen with this, did you do a “Fuel Pump Relay By-Pass” ?

Did you get it fixed ?
