New project truck, a few issues and questions for the guru's

Well I picked up a 1999 Ranger 2wd ext cab truck 3.0 automatic loaded with options with 89,000 miles the other day for a bargain price. As always with bargains you have some issues to deal with. First off I drove it home about 50 miles and parked it for a few days until this evening when I started working on it.

1 The biggest issue from the drive home was the tranny acted a little weird. From a cold start it engaged normally and seemed to shift normal. The odd thing was kinda like hitting neutral once on the freeway at 60 mph going from a coasting situation(down hill) to an uphill incline. At first I thought it may be a slipping situation but now I think it was a confused between gears situation OD>drive. The fluid was dark but didn't smell burnt and was overfull. I dropped the pan this evening and no clutch flakes or metalic shavings so tommorrow I'll pick up a filter and gasket and see what happens. Anybody know how many quarts a filter change takes?

2 The next issue is the check engine light is on. The trouble codes indicate the Evaporative control purge valve and the Fuel compensation sensor. Haven't trouble shooted these yet because I can't start it with out a tranny pan. Any advice?

3 Passengers side power window would go down but not back up with the master switch and the ps switch but wouldn't go back up. I have determined the ps window switch is bad. Anybody have a good spare laying around?

4 Power door locks don't work. They make a clicking sound but neither moves. I was wondering if they can be lubricated or repaired? They are in a plastic type housing and I haven't removed them yet.

5 The drivers side power mirror has been terrorised...lol The motors work but the plastic backing plate the glass mounts to has the little plastic studs broken and and I'm not sure wheater I can get parts or if I need a new complete mirror.

6 Fan switch only works on high. Any ideas?

On the bright side the truck is southern and has no rust(but a few dings), nice clean interior, and low miles.
TIA John

Oh yeah one I forgot

7 The speedo jumps all around. I stopped and picked a speed sensor at autozone and was going to install but found the trans isn't even drilled for one. After reading my manual I discovered that 98 and newer rangers use the wheel speed sensor for the abs to get the speed. The abs light isn't on so would I be correct to assume the speedometer is bad?
Thanks John

6) Gumby has it. It's located just downstream of the blower.

Thanks so far, I'll be under it tonight installing a trans filter. Probably test drive it to the salvage yard tommorrow to look for parts.
