battery recomendations

i have a set of KCs and and a moderate soundsystem, and the reason i ask is because i was driving down the road at night and i was going to turn on the KCs, just to warm them up, and i lost power to everything.
What would you guys recommend in a new battery? Optima, Duralast, etc.?
Or would it be better to go with a new altenator?
I don't know... i'm asking for your help.

ps. i also plan to add more accessories in the future, so what would you recomend?

A yellowtop isn't necessary unless you're going to be charging and completely discharging the battery often (i.e. you have a show truck with whiz-bang lights and sound running for hours at a show). Get an Optima Red Top, definitely.

yeah the red tops and yellow tops put out about the same power, the yellow top is just meant to be charged/discharged more. that's why it's called a deep cycle battery. a red top is more for conventional applications where you just need more CCA and power from the battery.

while we're on the topic of optima batteries, does anyone know the part number for a yellow top for an '02? I can't really seem to find it and the Optima website only lists red tops for rangers. Thanks.

umm, anybody heard of kenetic batteries? i was thinking about getting a pair of yellow tops or a big a$$ kenetic...but then i'd need a huge alternator to charge both of them (optima's).
