I have been fighting the electrical side of my 2wd-4wd edge conversion for a couple weeks. My problem is I don't have the gem I need. Of course the 2wd gem wont run the 4wd and one of the 4wd gems I have is the wrong year so the wipers run with the key on and the wipers turned off. The other 4wd gem works the 4wd and all the other equipment but won't run the speedo because its for a 4wabs truck and my truck is a rabs truck.

Anyway I hooked up the power, ground and vss wires to the 2wd gem and all the rest to the 4wabs gem and everything works(except the cruise I added but I can look into that anytime).

When I find the right gem I will change it back to a 1 gem setup but atleast I now have 4wd for the snow...

 

why did the gem have to be changed? are you running an electric shift transfer case?

 

Yeah electric shift, I already had all the parts(except the gem I found out) and I wanted it to be just like factory....

 

if you could figure out the part number of the right gem you need their are tons of em on ebay

 

I called the ford dealer and they said there was no difference between the rabs and 4wabs gems,
