Scangauge 2 Problems

Just received my scangauge in the mail yesterday. I followed the setup just as the book says. About 10-15 minutes down the road, the gauge would just shut itself off. Then tried unplugging, stopping and turning the car back on, nothing worked.
This happened both on my way to and from work, and is really ticking me off since I just put down $150 for this thing.

I set the mode to PWM, get data to FAST, engine size to 4.0, and fuel tank to 16.0. The firmware is the most updated version as well. Does anybody know what's causing my gauge to shut off??

That's about the only thing I can think of as of now. I have read the instruction manual front to back, and I have tried everything. I think I'll email Linear-Logic in the morning and see if they can send me a new cable.

I would. You can also check to see if its your obd2 port by plugging in a scanner or something and see if it works or not.

Hooked my SCT up to it and it works fine, but that was good suggestion to check the OBD port.

I did get ahold of somebody at Linear-Logic. She told me to change the sleep rate to COM which would make it shut off when the truck is shut off and the gauge would come on only when the engine is running. She also told me to change the retrieve data to SLOW. This worked for about 5 mins and shut off. Unfortunately LL is closed on the weekends thus I have to wait till Monday to tell her it didn't work. I'm just about to send it back to the original seller and get an ultra gauge that does the same thing for half price. Wish I knew about those before I bought the Scangauge lol.

Yeah it's getting to the point to where I'm about to throw it out the window lol. Dang $300?! Do you use the Aeroforce thing?

Hell mine might even be 15. I've got an extended cab, stepside bed with a 4.0. I ran it down till the check fuel light came on and filled it up. It took 13.5 gallons to get a full tank lol.

Haha I know. That was just a statement of my anger for basically throwing $150 on this thing and it not working.

Dang that looks good man! I would like to get an interceptor, but I don't want to worry about getting another gauge pillar when I already have a single one for my tranny temp.

Alright I am going to email ultragauge to make 100% sure that their gauge will work on my truck and then return the scangauge lol. I appreciate your input!

Ok man sounds good to me. Do you have a window mount? Those look pretty decent and I was thinking of mounting it next to my tranny gauge on the a-pillar. Better than on the column where I had the scangauge lol.

Yea, the window mount comes with it. You just have to bend it into position.
