Hey guys i could really use some help here, my 99 ford ranger won't start if it is really really hot outside! somehow the heat screws up my factory anti theft system and decides not to start. it doesnt even try to turn over, and the theft light just flashes. I want to know if anyone knows what could be causing this, and if i were to install a remote starter, would that bypass the theft system and get it to work?

 

I know that my aftermarket car alarm/starter bypasses the factory crap. I had a shop do it though

 

Don't know man, is your battery good to go?..I've never heard of that..

 

ya man the battery is still good, its newer too, id say like 3 years old at the latest. that's why i was thinking of getting a remote starter

 

If you can find a bypass system for a remote start, you hook up the "ground from alarm" to any ground on the truck and it will bypass the PATS system at all times.

 

where would i find the ground from the alarm

 

the wire will be coming out of the bypass box, which you would have to purchase.
