Speed sensor
Speed sensor
I can't find where the speed is to replace my current one, I'm moving from 4.10 to 4.56 and Im trying to find the replacement dash gear or does it automatically adjust itself, if not can I get some help finding it, I'm looking at my tire size when I get off work but p225 is the width
What YEAR Ranger?
1988 to 1997 M5OD-R1 will have a Driven gear on the tail shaft(2WD) or Transfer case output shaft(4WD), remove the 1 bolt and pull out the Driven gear, change Driven Gear for ratio or tire size changes, reinstall
1998 - 2000 have ABS sensor on rear axle for speedometer, no change needed if changing rear axle ratio, if you change tire size then to need to have GEM Module reprogrammed
2001 and up need to have computer software adjusted for rear wheel RPM(rotations per mile)
You can go here to calculate Driven gear: http://www.fordspeedo.com/Calculator.html
Ranger uses 7 tooth DRIVE gear
