Speedo/odometer/cruise control/ horn problem

What’s up guys. I have a 1998 4.0 ranger that I recently swapped a motor to a 1995 4.0 ranger. Motor works done and running good. I just had some issues all happen around the same time and I’m not sure if it’s a single problem or multiple at the same time. My cruise control worked for a day, next day I start the truck and the lights on the buttons were out and no functions. I learned the horn was also inoperable but for a moment I set the alarm and the horn sounded for a few beeps and then turned off and doesn’t make sounds anymore. Also in the morning when cold the speedo and odometer will work but after a few minutes they’ll both not function anymore I’m assuming thats heat related. No check engine lights related to anything except my 02 sensor stuff. Any ideas where to start ?

No, don't see crossover between speedo/odo and horn/cruise
Horn/cruise do share clock-spring under steering wheel

Check fuses first
Horn fuse is in the engine bay fuse box #10

Cruise uses cab fuses #9 and #10
Also check cab fuse #25 for speedometer

In 1998(1998-2000) speedo/odo get the speed signal from the GEM Module behind the radio, this signal is shared between speedo/odo, computer and cruise
GEM module gets a raw speed signal from the ABS sensor on the rear axle, its shared between ABS module and GEM module
Assuming ABS light works, comes on with key on and goes off, then if there was an issue with rear axle ABS sensor then ABS light would come on when driving and also no speedo/odo
No ABS light would indicate not an ABS sensor issue, usually

Computer will set code P0500 if there is no speed signal coming from the GEM module
That will usually turn on the CEL(check engine light), not always so check if there are any codes

If no P0500 but also no speedo/odo then problem is cluster or wire to cluster from GEM

1998 does have a Driver's Airbag, so unhook battery Negative cable, and wait 15min before removing the steering wheel cover and airbag to test clock-spring wires
