steering column

I have bought a 89 ranger xlt. This truck was stolen and the steering column was smashed to gain access to the ignition.and is not repairable. The only columns I can find are from automatics, Being my truck is a standard, Can I use a automatic column in mine as a plug and play? And if so what years? I have cruise in my column.

yes, it should work. i pulled the shift arm off one for my 93 with mustang dash (using 95+ column) and floor shifter. i would stick with 95-97. 98+ may have PATs and you'll run into other problems with that.
