Within a limit. Someone had put real small gears in. 4.88 maybe? and it didn't have that size option in the tuner. I need to see what happened in that situation. I haven't heard back so I assume they got it resolved. Let me check into it.

As you have it listed right now the tuner will adjust it for the tire size and gears. There are some years models where it won't. Anything 2001 and newer is good to go.

the problem I referenced in my first post was just a matter of going into the tuner to change the gear setting. It was a non issue as far as the tuner being able to make the change.

Make sure you buy your tuner/tunes from a good source such as www.Underdog-Performance.com

Don't make the mistake of buying it from doug at bamachips.com (search about why not to buy there).

Definately don't go with Doug from bamachips. He has practically no customer appreciation. I fully regret buying mine through him.

I have been working with another tuner though. And now he's got me mostly dialed in.

Heard nothing but good about the Rogue product as well.

they can custom tune your file to have it acccomidate your gears and/or tire size or any other major modification done to your ranger. I had mine custom tuned for 40" tires and 4.88gears. Only thing is they custom tune it under the highest stock program in the programmer (such as 4.56=4.88 in my tune). If you got the money, go ahead and buy the Custom tuned SCT LiveWire (200 more than the Custom X-calibrator-2) you can Measuring your vehicle’s HP, TQ, 0-60 ET, ¼ Mile ET and Fuel Mileage has never been easier. LIVEWIRE accurately estimates* your vehicle’s performance based on data monitored from the vehicle’s computer. Now you can easily measure performance gains before and after you make vehicle modifications, plus monitor your fuel economy. *Due to variables such as wheel spin all ratings are estimates only.

The x-cal can datalog TQ too. There is no such thing as hp.. but with excell you can take the TQ and calculate "HP". Actually the x-cal has been able to look at data that even my ford version of autotap can't.

The x-cal2 does sveral things:
It can hold up to three tunes. When loading a tune into the trucks computer the engine is off and the ignition is on. Takes about 1 minute to change tunes. (I have a DD, towing, and race tunes loaded on mine)
It can read and clear DTCs (codes / check engine light)
It can datalog info from the trucks computer to a laptop while your driving.
I think it con do some other small stuff.. just not sure what else.
