they can custom tune your file to have it acccomidate your gears and/or tire size or any other major modification done to your ranger. I had mine custom tuned for 40" tires and 4.88gears. Only thing is they custom tune it under the highest stock program in the programmer (such as 4.56=4.88 in my tune). If you got the money, go ahead and buy the Custom tuned SCT LiveWire (200 more than the Custom X-calibrator-2) you can Measuring your vehicle’s HP, TQ, 0-60 ET, ¼ Mile ET and Fuel Mileage has never been easier. LIVEWIRE accurately estimates* your vehicle’s performance based on data monitored from the vehicle’s computer. Now you can easily measure performance gains before and after you make vehicle modifications, plus monitor your fuel economy. *Due to variables such as wheel spin all ratings are estimates only.

The x-cal can datalog TQ too. There is no such thing as hp.. but with excell you can take the TQ and calculate "HP". Actually the x-cal has been able to look at data that even my ford version of autotap can't.
The x-cal2 does sveral things:
It can hold up to three tunes. When loading a tune into the trucks computer the engine is off and the ignition is on. Takes about 1 minute to change tunes. (I have a DD, towing, and race tunes loaded on mine)
It can read and clear DTCs (codes / check engine light)
It can datalog info from the trucks computer to a laptop while your driving.
I think it con do some other small stuff.. just not sure what else.
