Trailer Wiring Question

Trailer Wiring Question
Ok, I have a T connector on my truck so I can have a 4 flat hook-up. For the second time now, it has screwed up and stopped working right. I have figured out that it is the little converter box that is messing up. So, where is the cheapest place to get a new trailer hookup? I can get one on JCWhitney for $22 with free shipping since I got a code for it. Any where else I can look?

i got mine at the towing section in my local wal-mart. the one that was on it when i bought the truck messed up and i only had 1 brake light, both tails and no turns. check your grounds, that seems to be the biggest cause of trouble with trailer wiring issues, but i have seen diode boxes (that conveter thingy) go bad. not sure who if anyone makes "the best" it all seems to be china-crap anymore. (dont get me started on that one) seems like i paid $15 for mine, its been a few years though.

get the one like mine its a hopkins or something, it mounts on the bottom of your bumper, hooks up to your flat 4 pin. then it gives you a clean 4 pin flat with cover and 7 pin round with cover out the back. Nice and clean.
Summit has them too
has more wires too if you ever want power breaks or reverse trailer lights and stuff.

Ya, I have the Hopkins on with the 4 flat and then the 7. I know though that it is no my grounds and that it is the in line converter. I tested the wires before and after and the ones after no longer work. I have just a grey connecter up in there that is for a 4 flat connector but not all of the spots work. I will go look at Wal-mart and see what I can find.
