Turn Signals / Dash Light / Emergency Light not working

Im having an issue with my 93 ranger where my turn signals just quit working on me today. The previous owner has wires all over the place near the pedals. It looks like they installed s box which I think is for s car alarm. It reads RS110 Add-On Car Starter.

Im not sure if this has something to do with the turn signals, dash light, and emergency lights not working. I tried tying the wires neatly away away from the pedals but when I did that the turn signals stopped working and I haven’t figure it out since then. Plus my washer fluid part isn’t working if anyone can help me with that too.

The fuses all look good FYI

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum

Now thats a wiring challenge, lol.

I don't have a 1993 diagram but do have 1994 which should be the same for wire colors, fuse numbers may be different

There are TWO flashers, one for hazards, one for turn

Interesting Find

So today I found out that when my emergency light button is pushed in my turn signals will work on the dash and on the outside. Therefore; when the emergency light button is up (off) the turn signals will not work.

Im curious if I replace the whole switch on my steering column will that fix my blinkers, emergency lights, and possibly my dash light?

Then I can just tidy up those wires and get to other projects on it.

I don't know about the '93 but on my '06 replacing the "multi-function switch" solved problems I was having with the high beams being stuck on all the time and the emergency flasher not working. Its a cheap enough replacement and you've already done the work to remove it, I'd say replace it. (I think the part for the '93 is like $28)

Well the Multi-function switch is used many times each time you drive a vehicle, and it is a "moving part" so it will wear out

Outside of testing each contact, that's as far as I can go

But the hazards on switch doesn't make since, when its ON then all 4 corners should be flashing, so you should not be able to tell if turn signal work, lol.

So what you are says is Hazards do NOT work when switch is on, but turn signals do

Since they have two different power sources(direct and key on), I would say some wires are crossed
